In his satirical piece “A Modest Proposal“, Jonathan Swift takes a stance on how to solve the famine in Ireland: fatten up the young children and then feed them to the rich land-owners. Though satirical, Swift’s proposal is a great example of a proposal argument, and thoroughly supported with statistical data.
